With attention spans so short, if anything is going to stop people in their tracks, it’s video. Video doesn’t just tell your story, it shows it.

And that’s what makes all the difference. Viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video, compared to just 10% when they read it.

Websites with video are 53 times more likely to rank on Google, and social videos are shared 12 times more than text and images combined.

That’s because video builds connection. It boosts engagement, builds trust through real stories and testimonials, and helps customers truly understand what you do.

So whether it’s brand stories, product launches, events, or behind the scenes content, professional video isn’t a nice to have anymore, it’s essential, If you’re ready to be seen not scrolled past. We’ve got you covered.

Time-lapse videos are a powerful tool for businesses to showcase their products, services, and processes in a unique and engaging way. These video productions can be used to capture the progress of a construction project, the growth of a garden, or even the daily operations of a factory. The possibilities are endless, and with the right approach, time-lapse videos can be a valuable asset for any business.

Construction Companies

One of the most popular uses of time-lapse videos is to document the progress of a construction project. These videos can be used to show the before and after of a project, as well as the various stages of construction. This is a great way to showcase the work that goes into a project, and it can also be used to demonstrate the quality of work that a company provides.

Factories

Time-lapse videos can also be used to document the daily operations of a factory or other industrial facility. These film productions can be used to show the different processes that are used to produce a product, as well as the machinery and equipment that is used. This is a great way to demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of a company’s operations.

Gardening or Landscaping Services

Another popular use of time-lapse videos is to document the growth of plants or gardens. These local video productions can be used to show the progress of a garden over time, as well as the different stages of growth that a plant goes through. This is a great way to showcase the beauty of nature and the care that goes into maintaining a garden.

Marketing Strategies

In addition to the above-mentioned uses, time-lapse videos can also be used for other purposes such as marketing and advertising. A video company can create them to showcase a product or service in a creative and engaging way, and they can also be used to demonstrate the value that a company can provide to its customers.

One of the best ways to use time-lapse videos in marketing and advertising is to create a “day in the life” video. This type of video shows the daily operations of a business and the people who work there. It highlights the company culture and the values that the company holds. This type of video is an effective way to connect with potential customers on a personal level and to give them a sense of what it would be like to work with the company.

How are time-lapses made?

To create a time-lapse video, a camera is set up to take a series of photographs at regular intervals. These photographs are then edited together to create a video that shows the progress of the subject over time. The interval between photographs can be adjusted to create a faster or slower video, depending on the desired effect.

In conclusion, time-lapse videos are a versatile and powerful tool for businesses of all types. Whether you’re documenting the progress of a construction project, showcasing the growth or process of creating a beautiful garden for a customer, or demonstrating the daily operations of a factory, time-lapse videos can help you tell your company’s story in a unique and engaging way.

With the right approach, a time-lapse video can be a valuable asset for your business that can help you connect with potential customers and build your brand. So make the right choice and reach out to us for a professional video production!

Since we first started Yellow Lizard video production we have always been based in St Albans Hertfordshire, home to St Michaels Manor. Over the last few years our videographers have been lucky enough to film events and promotional video content on the grounds of St Michaels Manor and recently we worked with them to capture interior videos for their video marketing requirements to showcase their stunning grounds and vast array of available rooms. Once again we partnered up with Jeremy (See Real Cheddar Blog here) to capture the video and photos simultaneously.

Over multiple days we visited the Manor to capture different sections of the hotel, this was so we didn’t shoot the video content while guests were still enjoying the location we were at. First up were the rooms. Our videographers strategically setup the video lights to allow each room to look its best (and to not get caught in any of the mirrors) and then proceeded to capture professional film content. The plan was to have a mix of shots from handheld cameras, stabilised gimbal shots and finally videos shot on a tripod. This was so that there was a nice variation of content and the video doesn’t become to static and dull. As these would also end up as social media videos we also had to ensure that the shots could be used in quick snappy edits while also allowing the finer details of the rooms to be shown. We finally incorporated a lot of slow-motion video which we used to further smooth out the moving shots and also add a cinematic touch to the coffee machine and doors opening. As mentioned these interior videos would then be later used for video marketing for both social media and to also send out to guests looking to stay at the hotel.

Next up were the communal internal areas, this consisted of the bar, dining room, entrance and sitting room. The way the videographers captured these were similar to the rooms. Lighting the bar was particularly interesting as the room had a wonderful feeling to it where we were worried our large video lights would ruin the aesthetic, the way we went around it was by putting the light outside of the room, and directed the light towards the bar in the same way the sun naturally would. This further emphasised the shadows and allowed the bar to still look bright enough to see on camera but not a flat light that would have ruined the look. Again video camera stabilisers are used to glide through the rooms and tripod close ups were mixed in to show the finer details the spaces had to offer.

Finally my favourite the external grounds including the lake filled with carp. In true England style we had to revisit capturing the grounds a couple of times due to the unpredictable weather. As our lights are too small to light such vast areas we had to wait for a bright and dry day to capture the rest of the hotel video content. The slow motion video came in handy here and capturing the wind in the trees and the rippling of the water was made that little bit more special by being to watch It back in half and quarter speed. Finally we got out our 4K drone and captured some stunning shots of the entire grounds, we also captured video content of the entrance and street as an establishing shot.

Since the success of that video shoot we are looking forward to working with other hotels to help them with their video marketing requirements and show off their premise with social media video content. Interior videos, drone videos and hotel videos are just a few of the types of video services our video production company offer and with 11 years experience and a range of professional video equipment including drones we know how to create beautiful promotional videos to boost your video marketing.

Marketing is a trial-and-error practice designed to find the best ways to engage with your audiences and make your customers loyal. If you, as a brand or content creator, are looking to increase your reach and make people remember your product, a video production might be just what you need. In this article, we’ll teach you how to sell your product in 30 seconds successfully.

Why 30 Seconds?

Speaking on marketing terms, people’s attention span is super short. Luckily, you’ll get just 3 to 5 seconds to get someone’s attention and make them want to watch the rest of what you have to say. If your content is interesting, you can get up to 30 seconds to provide concise, attractive information and leave them wanting to know more about your brand.

Plan according to your platform

The very first step to sell your product correctly on a film production is to plan according to the platform (or platforms) you’ll be using. Remember that, nowadays, social media is packed with content, so you need to find a way to stand out. Be very careful with the dimensions of your video, the quality of the recording or animation, and think of the colors that might be more attractive on the screen.

Hook the audience quickly

Once your video has started, remember you have limited seconds to grab people’s attention. You need to have a strong visual and auditory hook, something that almost instantly makes them stop scrolling and take a closer look. You might start with a loud image, maybe some catchy titles, or maybe with a the product itself, whatever sparks more interest.

State your customer’s need

Just as if you were doing an elevator pitch, your video production company should start going straight to the point. Communicate on a deep and personal level to our viewers and let them know you’re aware of what their needs are. Let them know you understand their frustrations/fears/desired. You can even slightly tickle their insecurities, that’s ok, because later on you’ll offer a solution for them.

Explain your solution

This is the part of the video were you should make the magic happen. Because you’re not a company like any other, and you’re not here to offer a solution for your potential customer. You’re here to offer the ultimate solution, the thing that no one else can offer them or no one else gets done as right as you.

Give brief testimony

Any video company will tell you that things are way more believable when you hear them from another customer. Find loyal customers who are willing to tell the world how much they love your product, this will elevate confidence in viewers. If possible, also provide third-party evidence of your brand’s benefits, such as numbers or graphics.

Don’t forget the call-to-action

Marketing is all about educating and guiding your target audience into what you want or expect from them so they also feel satisfied and taken care of. Any good video content needs to include a call-to-action that states clearly what you want people to do. It can be a “book your visit”, “order now”, “call us today”, “like our page”, etc.

Now that you’re ready to make great sales using video marketing, it’s time to book the best St Albans, Hertfordshire video production company and get started!

Corporate videos have been around for a couple of decades now, but they seem to be more important now than ever due to social media and all digital channels available. A corporate video is basically targeted for your customers, with the intention of sharing your core values with them, while at the same time you present your array of products or services.
Thanks to the wide use of the internet, video content is probably the best format to present information to your audiences, since its visual are highly engaging and get more attention than static images. Since every brand wants to create a piece of content that makes them stand out from the rest and solidify their place in the market, hiring a video company is your best shot. In this article, we’ll explore just how a corporate video can make your brand more popular and some useful tips to start this strategy right.

The importance of corporate videos

Any brand that’s growing at a healthy rate reaches a point in which they need to present themselves to the public as a formal and stable company, this is the main reason why they turn to an attractive video production. But, how important is it that you invest in a corporate video?

First off, videos make up almost 80% of all online or social media content, and a website that contains a corporate video is 50 times more likely to convince a person to become a customer. It’s a fact that our brain can process an image or video 600,000 times faster than it can process text. These numbers translate directly to your ROI, since the cost of an ad which includes video content is 25% cheaper than ads with plain text or images.

Benefits of hiring video production for your corporate videos

As we’ve mentioned earlier, modern times make it almost a necessity for your company to have video content. If you’re looking to create a film production to display your corporate environment but you’re still undecided, here are great reasons to do it:

  • A corporate video can help build trust in your audience, convincing them make their first purchase or book their first service and give you a chance.
  • This type of content will make you reach more people. Being everywhere in the virtual world (specially social media) can improve your brand’s authority.
  • Video content is the easiest and cheapest way to turn target audiences into real followers and customers.
  • If you already have an established audience, a corporate video can help you connect deeper with them and increase their loyalty.

Tips to ace your corporate video

If you’re hiring a video production company, it’s important that you work hand in hand with them so you don’t miss any of the main points of corporate videos. Your video must go straight to the main point in the first seconds, it should tell a compelling story that’s clearly targeted at a certain audience. Your corporate video must mention exactly why your brand is an expert at what they do and, if possible, include some testimonials. Never let your video end without a clear call to action.

As you can see, the pros of creating a corporate video for your brand out-weight any possible disadvantage. Make sure to check out the best St Albans, Hertfordshire video production companies to get the greatest material available to grow your company.

Public events are a very important factor for any business that’s trying to engage with new audiences, connect with existing customers and share some of their insights on their place in the industry. Hosting an event can be useful, but it can be even better if you make sure to include an event video. In this article, we’ll explore different occasions that can be covered by event videos and how to do it like a pro.

Promotional video content

When you’re having an event in St Albans, Hertfordshire – or anywhere for that matter (whether it’s in person or virtual), you’ll want to make a big buzz around it so as many people as possible find out. Probably the most important type of video content for events is the one you make before the actual event. Promotional videos should tell people the basics: what your event is about, where you’ll host it (location or digital platform), the date and time, and details they’ll need to know to access such as purchase tickets or register at a link.

Event opening video

You planned a fun and exciting event for your audience or target customers, you finally made it happen and your event started. Instead of giving a dull welcome speech or hiring hosts to repeat the same lines to everyone, why not invest in high-end film production to open your event? This video will tell people what to expect from your event, what they’ll learn or what they will take with them at the end. Also, you’ll get everyone’s attention quicker than if you were speaking yourself.

Live streaming

Live streaming is a type of video production that’s gained popularity in recent years. Due to new crowd-restricting events, there’s a chance many people won’t get the opportunity to enjoy your on-site events. If you want to let them all be a part of your event and even broaden your reach, a live streaming video production will do the trick. People who can’t attend your event will be able to see the live transmission.

Highlights of your event

The good thing about event videos is that, even when many people got to experience your event in real-time, there’s still a chance to reach ten times more people after with your engaging content. But since not many people are willing to watch a 2+ hours streaming of the whole event, you can go to a video company and have them create an attractive, brief summary of your event. As the name suggests, this type of video shows highlights of the key message and points they can’t miss from your past event. Make sure to throw in a call-to-action so they don’t miss your next one.

Testimonials

Never forget that the core of every business is its customers. With this in mind, an event is always the perfect opportunity to gather some testimonials. Reach out to some of your most loyal customers or even attendees who are just getting to know your brand to ask them what they’re enjoying the most and what they find appealing about your offer.

As you can see, there’s no part of your event (before, during, or after) that can’t be improved by getting it recorded. So take your event to the next level and speak to us today about how we can help you produce videos for your next event.

What are the benefits of drone videography?

There are many techniques and equipment we use that keeps the video content we produce engaging and cinematic but there is one that stands (or should we say flies) above the rest, aerial shots from a drone. By flying one of our 4K drones we can show a birds eye view of the subject matter from heights of up to 400 feet. This not only provides cinematic viewing that is otherwise unachievable but also allows the viewer a chance to see massive areas that handheld cameras would take far too long to demonstrate. You can use these shots to capture viewers attention on social media platform or on website banners.

Drone filming has become a key part of video projects in the construction industry as it can not only show large-scale projects in one frame but also can get into areas that are not accessible on foot. Our drones are small and light allowing them to be flown in a wide range of locations.

What other uses of drone videography are there?

Aerial surveying is a service that be extremely beneficial to companies in the construction industry or to anyone with a large or tall premises. An aerial survey can be used access hard to reach areas of a location. This can be to find problems or just to check that everything is as it should be. A typical way to normally achieve this would be by erecting scaffolding but this can be very costly, not only would an aerial survey save money by not having to organise and set up the scaffolding but it would also save a lot of time. We can be on site within a matter of days or even in some situations, the same day. It also keeps everyone on the ground providing a layer of safety. We will bring monitors with us so you can watch in realtime what the drone can see and can guide us to the required locations, but simultaneously we will be recording in 4K.

Bring in the experts

We have the skills, equipment and insurance to capture the aerial videography you need. We have been flying drones over many years and have two in house that can capture 4K video content. Best of all our drones, like all of our equipment, are included in our shoots meaning there are no extra charges to you when including aerial videography to your project

The initial conversation

Towards the end of 2023 we were approached by a large events management company who needed our help on a multi-national conference. We were asked to capture the event itself, plus all presentations throughout the day and then create informative and promotional video content. The conference spanned across four cities, London, Frankfurt, Paris and Rotterdam.

The aim

After providing a quote just under their budget we were awarded the project and started planning the job. The aim was to create multiple promotional videos that would highlight each area of the conference and these videos would be used to help attract additional attendees to future events. Some of the key elements of these videos focused around capturing attendees networking, exploring client products and also showcasing the incredible venues from the ground and air. Vox pops (short, in the moment interviews) were also key to these videos. The plan would be to capture attendees to show firsthand how informative and worthwhile the events are to future potential customers. We also captured vox pops with sponsors and exhibitors to demonstrate the benefits of bringing your brand to the event.

The other video requirement was to capture all 120 presentations, keynotes and lock notes across the events. These would be used on the clients platform to send out to everyone attending the event should they wish to review or show to other team members. They could watch other presentations they missed which took place in a different city. Once the speaker was captured every video needed to have animated assets, video intros, music and sync’d up presentation slides added.

The challenges we overcome

We are a small but experienced team of videographers, editors, drone pilots and more which means that 99% of our projects are all done in house. As this project had a lot to capture we needed to bring in some additional videographers. Over the decade that Yellow Lizard Media has been operating we have met some skilful camera operators all over the country that we were confident to bring on board.

Equipment requirements was another challenge we had to fulfil. Although we own an extensive range of cameras and cinematic equipment we still needed more as we would be capturing 6 separate areas simultaneously. Due to this we purchased additional 4K slow-mo cameras, lenses, audio equipment and more to ensure we could capture everything on the day and had backup on standby to ensure a smooth shoot.

The results

Most importantly the client was very happy with the videos supplied. There were little to no changes across the 125+ videos. All videos were completed within the one week deadline provided and also under their budget.

We learnt a lot during this project by taking on tasks that were not typical of our usual shoots, and these skills will transfer to future projects. This experience, combined with the increased range of cameras and equipment means we are able to take on larger scale events, conferences and forums in the future.

If you are planning or organising any events or conferences please contact Yellow Lizard Media to see how we can work with you and create the video content you require.
