Bringing St Albans Businesses Together Through Creative Video
Some projects are about sales. Others are about community.
Our partnership with St Albans Businesses (SAB) has been a brilliant example of how strategic video marketing can unite local companies, raise thousands for charity and generate serious online buzz, all at the same time.
As a creative video production company, we love projects that combine energy, collaboration and purpose and this one had all three.
Who Are the Client?
St Albans Businesses (SAB) is a thriving business network designed to help companies connect, collaborate and grow across St Albans and the surrounding areas.
With a strong online and social media presence, SAB is widely recognised for supporting local growth and creating meaningful partnerships between businesses.
They also work closely with their chosen charity, Home-Start https://home-startherts.org.uk Hertfordshire, helping to raise awareness and funds for families in need across the region.
We’ve been working with SAB since 2016, acting as their trusted videographer and creative partner.
What Videos Did We Create for Them?
One of the most ambitious projects we collaborated on was a shot-for-shot recreation of Can’t Stop the Feeling! by Justin Timberlake featuring local St Albans businesses as the stars.
From dance teachers and shop owners to the former Mayor of St Albans, the project brought together a huge cross-section of the local business community (and yes, even our own team got involved!).
The production involved:
- Detailed pre-production planning
- Multiple filming days across various locations
- Coordinating dozens of local businesses
- High-energy choreography and direction
- Professional editing for a cinematic finish
The video premiered at the The Odyssey Cinema, was viewed by thousands online and raised significant funds for Home-Start Hertfordshire.
Since then, we’ve continued producing promotional and charity-focused content to raise the profile of both SAB and their chosen charity using targeted video marketing strategies to maximise engagement.
What Did the Client Think?
Sue Wybrow, Owner of St Albans Businesses, shared this feedback:
“Yellow Lizard Media were amazing to work with on the #SAB video. They were incredibly flexible, easy to work with, charming with all the businesses we filmed, adaptable and incredibly focussed on the end result which was outstanding. We had so many compliments on the quality and timing of the work involved and we will definitely be working with these guys again wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and we can’t thank them enough for their involvement, passion and dedication to the project.”
For us as a video production company, this project perfectly demonstrates how the right videographer and creative strategy can do more than just promote a brand it can energise an entire community.
