Public events are powerful. They bring new audiences into your world, strengthen relationships with existing customers and position your business as active and credible within your industry.

But an event should not exist for just one day.

With the right strategy, it becomes weeks or even months of valuable content. That is where professional event filming comes in. As a St Albans-based video production company working across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex and London, we help businesses maximise the impact of their events through smart video marketing.

Here is how to use video before, during and after your event to get the most from it.

“They knew what we were trying to achieve and they were so professional and friendly and relaxed with our members that it was just a joy to work with them really.”

Promotional Video Content Before the Event

The build-up matters just as much as the event itself.

If you are hosting an event in St Albans, Hertfordshire or anywhere nationwide, you need people to know about it. A short promotional video creates anticipation and gives your audience the key details clearly and quickly.

A strong pre-event video should cover:

  • What the event is about
  • Who it is for
  • Date and time
  • Location or digital platform
  • How to register or buy tickets

A professional videographer will ensure the message is concise, visually engaging and aligned with your wider video marketing strategy. This is your chance to create momentum before doors even open.

A Powerful Event Opening Video

First impressions count.

Rather than beginning with a standard welcome speech, an opening film immediately sets the tone. High-quality production captures attention, communicates professionalism and builds excitement in the room.

An event opening video can:

  • Introduce your brand story
  • Outline the agenda
  • Highlight key speakers
  • Reinforce the purpose of the event

It ensures everyone starts on the same page and elevates the overall experience from the outset.

Live Streaming to Expand Your Reach

Not everyone can attend in person. That should not limit your audience.

Live streaming allows remote viewers to experience your event in real time. It broadens your reach beyond geographical boundaries and makes your content accessible to a larger audience.

Handled correctly by an experienced video production company, live streaming maintains professional sound, clear visuals and stable delivery. This protects your brand reputation while extending visibility.

Live content also provides valuable material for future edits and repurposing, strengthening your long-term video marketing efforts.

Event Highlight Videos That Keep Working for You

Once the event is over, the opportunity is not.

While full-length recordings are useful, most people prefer concise, engaging summaries. A highlights film captures the key moments, energy and core messages in a format that is easy to watch and share.

A well-edited highlight video can:

  • Promote your next event
  • Attract new attendees
  • Showcase your brand authority
  • Provide valuable social media content
  • Support future sponsorship discussions

A skilled videographer knows how to capture the right moments throughout the day so the final edit feels dynamic and impactful.

Capturing Testimonials on the Day

Events are ideal opportunities to gather authentic feedback.

Speaking to attendees while their experience is fresh results in genuine, enthusiastic testimonials. These short interviews add credibility to your brand and strengthen future promotional campaigns.

Video testimonials are particularly effective within video marketing because they provide real voices and real experiences, building trust quickly with potential customers.

Make Your Event Work Harder

An event takes time, planning and investment. Recording it professionally ensures that investment continues to deliver value long after the final guest leaves.

From promotional build-up to live streaming, highlights and testimonials, every stage benefits from working with an experienced video production company.

If you are planning an event in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, London or beyond and want to maximise its impact with strategic video marketing and a professional videographer on site, let’s have a chat.

Large conferences demand more than basic event coverage. They require precision, coordination and a clear video marketing strategy that ensures the content continues delivering value long after the final session ends.

Towards the end of 2023, we were approached by a major events management company to support a multi-national conference spanning four cities: London, Frankfurt, Paris and Rotterdam.

The brief was clear. Capture the energy of the events, film every presentation across all locations and produce promotional content that would drive attendance for future conferences.

The Initial Plan

After submitting a proposal that came in just under budget, we were awarded the project and immediately moved into detailed planning.

The objectives were twofold.

First, create multiple promotional videos highlighting:

  • Attendees networking
  • Sponsors and exhibitors showcasing products
  • Venue atmosphere from ground level and aerial perspectives
  • Vox pops with attendees, sponsors and exhibitors

These short interviews were essential. They provided authentic, in-the-moment reactions that future delegates could relate to. Real feedback builds credibility, and credibility drives registrations.

Second, capture and produce all 120 presentations, keynotes and lock notes delivered across the four cities. Each session needed to be professionally recorded and edited with:

  • Branded animated assets
  • Video intros
  • Licensed music
  • Synced presentation slides

These videos would be hosted on the client’s platform, allowing attendees to revisit sessions or catch up on talks delivered in other cities.

This was not just event coverage. It was a large-scale content operation.

Scaling Up to Deliver

As an established video production company based in St Albans, we handle the vast majority of our work in-house. However, this project required simultaneous filming across multiple stages and rooms.

To meet the scale of the conference, we expanded our crew by bringing in trusted freelance videographers we have built relationships with over the years. This ensured quality remained consistent across all locations.

Equipment was another major consideration. Filming six separate areas simultaneously meant increasing our kit list significantly. We invested in additional 4K cameras, slow-motion cameras, lenses and professional audio equipment to guarantee:

  • Consistent quality across every stage
  • Backup systems for reliability
  • Smooth workflows during fast-paced schedules

Planning, redundancy and communication were key to delivering at this level.

The Results

In total, we delivered over 125 edited videos within a one-week deadline. The client required minimal revisions across the entire project and everything was delivered within budget.

Beyond the immediate success, the project strengthened our ability to manage large-scale, multi-location productions. It expanded both our equipment inventory and our operational processes, positioning us to confidently deliver even larger conferences, forums and corporate events in the future.

Strategic video marketing does not stop at filming. It is about creating assets that continue to provide value long after the event ends. In this case, the promotional films are already supporting future registrations while the session recordings extend the life of the conference content.

Planning a Conference or Large-Scale Event?

Whether you are organising a multi-city conference or a single-location corporate forum, working with an experienced video production company ensures every element is captured professionally and delivered efficiently.

It’s no secret that everyone in business is eager to get back to conferences, live events, and gatherings where deals are struck, ideas are shared, and products get moving again. But here’s the thing—just because the event ends doesn’t mean its impact has to. That’s where video comes in. Recording your conferences and live events can take the buzz of the day and extend it far beyond the room, reaching people who couldn’t attend and giving your business content that keeps on giving.

Let Your Audience Catch Up

Not everyone can make it to every conference, and that’s okay. But if you want them to stay engaged with your brand, video is the perfect solution. By capturing workshops, speeches, and product demos, you allow your audience to experience everything they missed. You can share the content directly with attendees who couldn’t be there or even create a premium product they can purchase.

In today’s post-pandemic world, large gatherings might still be tricky. Video ensures your event reaches its audience safely while keeping the energy, excitement, and value intact. It’s a way to make sure no one is left out, even if they couldn’t be in the room.

Show Off Your New Products

If you’ve ever watched an Apple launch, you’ll know the power of anticipation. People love to see what’s new, and a well-recorded conference video can generate the same excitement for your brand. You can showcase your latest products, demonstrate their features, and really bring your audience along for the journey.

When shared across your social media, website, or email campaigns, this content doesn’t just promote your products—it builds hype, credibility, and desire. Video has a way of making your announcements feel bigger and more memorable than any press release or static post ever could.

Boost Your SEO and Website Reach

High-quality video content isn’t just for your audience—it’s for Google too. Websites with engaging, relevant video rank higher because search engines recognise that people want to watch your content. Hosting conference videos, highlights, or product presentations on your site not only keeps visitors engaged longer but also strengthens your SEO and overall online presence.

Even a short highlights reel can show both your audience and Google that your brand is active, informative, and producing content people actually want to see.

Cost-Effective, Professional, and Discreet

A professional recording doesn’t need to mean an army of cameras and tripods. At Yellow Lizard Media, we bring a small, nimble team of 2–3 people with portable, high-end equipment. Electronic stabilisers and drones allow us to move unobtrusively through the venue, capturing every angle without disrupting the event. You get cinematic, professional results without massive production costs or logistical headaches.

Conferences and live events are about connection, energy, and visibility. With the right video marketing strategy, that energy doesn’t stop when the doors close. From sharing what attendees missed to promoting new products, boosting SEO, and creating professional content, a recorded conference keeps your brand front of mind long after the event ends.

Bringing St Albans Businesses Together Through Creative Video

Some projects are about sales. Others are about community.

Our partnership with St Albans Businesses (SAB) has been a brilliant example of how strategic video marketing can unite local companies, raise thousands for charity and generate serious online buzz, all at the same time.

As a creative video production company, we love projects that combine energy, collaboration and purpose and this one had all three.

Who Are the Client?

St Albans Businesses (SAB) is a thriving business network designed to help companies connect, collaborate and grow across St Albans and the surrounding areas.

With a strong online and social media presence, SAB is widely recognised for supporting local growth and creating meaningful partnerships between businesses.

They also work closely with their chosen charity, Home-Start https://home-startherts.org.uk Hertfordshire, helping to raise awareness and funds for families in need across the region.

We’ve been working with SAB since 2016, acting as their trusted videographer and creative partner.

What Videos Did We Create for Them?

One of the most ambitious projects we collaborated on was a shot-for-shot recreation of Can’t Stop the Feeling! by Justin Timberlake featuring local St Albans businesses as the stars.

From dance teachers and shop owners to the former Mayor of St Albans, the project brought together a huge cross-section of the local business community (and yes, even our own team got involved!).

The production involved:

  • Detailed pre-production planning
  • Multiple filming days across various locations
  • Coordinating dozens of local businesses
  • High-energy choreography and direction
  • Professional editing for a cinematic finish

The video premiered at the The Odyssey Cinema, was viewed by thousands online and raised significant funds for Home-Start Hertfordshire.

Since then, we’ve continued producing promotional and charity-focused content to raise the profile of both SAB and their chosen charity using targeted video marketing strategies to maximise engagement.

What Did the Client Think?

Sue Wybrow, Owner of St Albans Businesses, shared this feedback:

“Yellow Lizard Media were amazing to work with on the #SAB video. They were incredibly flexible, easy to work with, charming with all the businesses we filmed, adaptable and incredibly focussed on the end result which was outstanding. We had so many compliments on the quality and timing of the work involved and we will definitely be working with these guys again wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and we can’t thank them enough for their involvement, passion and dedication to the project.”

For us as a video production company, this project perfectly demonstrates how the right videographer and creative strategy can do more than just promote a brand it can energise an entire community.
