Behind the scenes at POWWR event.

September 11, 2026

At Yellow Lizard Media, some event shoots are about capturing the day itself. Others give you the opportunity to create a whole library of video content that can be used long after the event is over.

Our latest behind the scenes project for POWWR was a great example of the latter. As well as capturing the event, including team building activities, presentations, networking and a food and drinks reception, we were also tasked with creating a huge range of additional video content for POWWR’s marketing, recruitment and internal communications.

With dozens of interviews and vox pops filmed alongside the event itself, it was a busy day behind the cameras!

Capturing the Event

The event brought the POWWR team together for a day of team building, presentations, networking and plenty of opportunities to relax and socialise.

Our first priority was to capture the atmosphere of the event and all the key moments throughout the day. From the organised activities and presentations to the more natural interactions between colleagues, we wanted the finished video content to give a genuine feel for what the event was like.

We also took to the skies with our drone, capturing aerial footage of the venue and surrounding area. These shots provided a different perspective and helped add some variety to the event footage.

Making the Most of the Day

While filming the event was a big part of the project, we also had another challenge: creating as much useful content as possible during the same shoot.

We filmed dozens of piece-to-camera interviews with members of the POWWR team, covering a wide range of subjects and services. Rather than creating one video and calling it a day, the aim was to build a library of content that POWWR could use across different areas of the business.

This included videos explaining the services they provide, onboarding content for new employees and videos designed to help attract new members of staff.

By planning the interviews carefully and filming them alongside the event, we were able to create a huge amount of content from a single shoot.

Dozens of Vox Pops

We also filmed dozens of vox pops throughout the event, capturing quick thoughts, opinions and reactions from the POWWR team.

Vox pops are a great way of adding personality to event content. Instead of relying entirely on polished interviews, they give people the opportunity to speak naturally and share their experiences in their own words.

The challenge for our team was keeping track of all these different pieces of content while still making sure we didn’t miss what was happening around us.

With the event taking place at the same time, our videographers were constantly moving between activities, presentations, interviews and vox pops. It made for a busy day, but it meant we could come away with a much bigger and more varied collection of footage.

Creating Content That Keeps Working

One of the biggest benefits of approaching an event shoot this way is that the content doesn’t stop being useful when the event finishes.

The event footage can be used to showcase company culture and future events, while the interviews can be turned into videos for websites, social media, recruitment, onboarding and marketing campaigns.

Instead of one event video that gets watched a few times before being forgotten about, POWWR now has a substantial library of footage that can be used across different parts of the business.

For us, that’s one of the most exciting things about video production. With a bit of planning, a single day of filming can create content with a much longer lifespan.

Another Busy Day Behind the Camera

Filming an event while simultaneously creating dozens of interviews and vox pops is certainly a busy way to spend a day, but it’s also a great example of how much you can achieve with the right planning.

From aerial drone footage and event coverage to interviews, vox pops and recruitment content, we created a huge library of video for POWWR to use across their business.

Our behind the scenes video gives you a glimpse into how we approached the shoot and the amount of work that goes into creating this kind of content. Whether you need an event captured, a library of marketing videos created, or a combination of the two, we can help you make the most of your time in front of the camera.

If you’re planning an event and want to create video content that keeps working long after the day is over, we’d love to hear from you.
